Biotifx® Biological Treatments

Biotifx wastewater treatments are microbial solutions to challenges surrounding fats, oils, grease (FOG), Hydrogen sulphide (H2S), odours, and sludge.

Wastewater streams, ranging from municipal sewage to specific industrial process wastewater to waste from food production contain a plethora of contaminants and can change over the course of days and with the seasons.

A dedicated scientific team at MDG’s laboratories in the Unites States has built a library of over 10,000 strains of Bacillus bacteria to discover the handful of strains that would work best against wastewater treatment challenges. The goal was to identify strains that would digest complex substrates such as fat, oil, and grease (FOG) in addition to reducing hydrogen sulphide, sludge build-up, and pesky odorous compounds.

Once selected, strains are tested in different blends to ensure they were able to work seamlessly together because synergy between strains is crucial. The blends of strains of Bacillus are determined in order to provide the most complete, robust wastewater treatment solutions possible. In addition, the microbial treatment products are enhanced with proprietary blends of micronutrients and biostimulants also developed by MDG to support and maximise the efficacy of the microbes.

In addition to offering a great product, MDG recognised that the best success comes when the product is applied in the proper location, at the right time, and at the correct dosage. To get the very best out of MDG products in the Australian environment, we knew the Biotifx® platform was going to need to need an Australian partner with a strong track record in successfully deploying technical water treatment chemistry solutions. WTS is proud to be the exclusive representatives of MDG products in Australia.

Biotifx® products are formulated with hardy Bacillus strains that thrive in a wide range of environmental conditions. They work harder, faster and over a longer-term versus chemicals and other alternative treatment methods.
